For artists

Your artwork, your rights, and arithmetic you can check.

Hueloom licenses royalty-free graphics to people making videos, games, apps and campaigns. If you supply assets here, this is what you get and what you keep. It is a short list because we would rather it were all true than all long.

How the money works

Half of what reaches us, split by what buyers actually licensed.

There is one pool each month and it is divided by use, not by how many assets you uploaded. The whole calculation is published, so you can redo it yourself.

01
50% of what actually arrives

Subscription revenue for the month, less taxes, less refunds and chargebacks, and less what the payment processor keeps. Nothing else is deducted — not hosting, not bandwidth, not any other cost of running this. On a $2.99 subscription the processor’s fixed fee alone is around an eighth of it, so a share of gross would be partly a share of money that never arrived.

02
One subscriber, one unit of weight

Each paying subscriber carries a single unit, split across the artists they licensed that month. Splitting one work into three hundred assets changes nothing, because the unit belongs to the buyer and not to the asset. Nobody can dilute you by uploading more, and nobody can buy their way to more weight than their own subscription funded.

03
You can check the answer

When a month closes we publish the size of the pool and the total weight across every artist. With your own figures, which your studio shows you each month, those two numbers reproduce your amount exactly. A number you cannot divide by is a number you cannot check.

What you keep

Three things we will not do to you.

You keep them

Non-exclusive, always

We take a non-exclusive licence to host your assets and to license them to our customers. That is all. You keep ownership, and you can sell the same asset anywhere else at any time — other libraries, direct to clients, whatever you like. We never ask for exclusivity.

They keep working

Even after you go

If you leave, we stop offering your assets to new customers. Everyone who already licensed one keeps their licence and keeps being able to download the file. Archiving a release, or suspending an account, does not change that either. Only a rejected release or a live rights claim stops delivery, and both are decisions about the work.

What this is worth right now

Close to nothing, and we would rather say so here than have you work it out from a statement.

The pool is a share of real subscription revenue. The catalogue is new and there are very few subscribers, so the pool today is small enough that it is not worth planning around. It grows if the catalogue is good enough that people subscribe, and not otherwise. Supply work here because you want the terms and want the catalogue to exist — not because you are counting on the income.

Two more things worth knowing before you apply. Payouts are arranged directly rather than automatically: amounts accrue, and once your balance clears a minimum you ask and we pay. And the founding weight above only starts mattering once there are artists who are not founding — while everyone is on the same multiplier it changes nobody’s share.

What we ask of you

That you hold the rights to what you supply; that if you generate the work, the service you use permits commercial licensing through a third party; that nothing you supply here is under an exclusive agreement with a stock agency; that you do not enrol it with an image-rights enforcement service such as Pixsy, Copytrack or PicRights; and that you declare accurately how each asset was made, which we show buyers before they license it.

The last four exist because the cost of getting them wrong lands on a customer who acted in good faith. We also cap how much any one account can download in a month, at 400, so nobody can drain the catalogue on a single subscription.

The full terms are in the Contributor Agreement and the Artist Terms. Read them before you apply rather than after — they are short, and they say the same things this page does.

Send us your work.

You will need an ordinary Hueloom account first — one emailed code. The form asks what you make it with and what rights you hold; a few answers end an application straight away, and it tells you which before you send it.
